ALGEBRA
In Class: Introduced writing equations in slope intercept form given the slope and a point.
Assignment: Page 282 (14-40 even)

PRE-ALGEBRA
In Class Continued using the dry eraser boards to introduce solving equations.
Assignment: Period 4 needs to compete page 122, exercises 33-44. Be sure to copy the equation, show your step, solve and check.

ENGLISH
Bell Work: Students wrote the definitions of the Methods of Characterization on p. 7 of the ACC packets.
In Class: Students met in groups to answer Stave 1 study packet questions. We discussed in class all study guide questions for Stave 1 and reviewed for the quiz. Students took the Stave 1 quiz.
Assignment: Students may begin working on their Christmas Carol projects. These are to be done outside of class. Read your AR books for 2nd quarter.

The HISTORY Experience
Experienced at School: Our students worked on the Learning Opportunity worksheet for Chapter 15, Section 4.

ENGLISH
Bell Work: None.
In Class: Students took a quiz over the introductory information about Charles Dickens and A Christmas Carol. We worked on Stave 1 vocabulary and began listening to Stave 1 on the CD. You must come in and listen to the CD if you are absent.
Assignment: Stave 1 vocabulary is due. Students may begin working on their Christmas Carol projects. These are to be done outside of class. Read your AR books for 2nd quarter.

The HISTORY Experience
Experienced at School: Our students worked on the Learning Opportunity worksheet for Chapter 15, Section 2.
Experience at Home: Be prepared for a 6 Question Quiz or have the Learning Opportunity worksheet for Chapter 15, Section 2 complete.

SCIENCE
In Class: We took the notes on the parts of the atom and how to find them. We also did the Atomic Structure worksheet. Go over the notes before doing the worksheet.

ENGLISH
Bell Work: Students wrote a journal about the themes in A Christmas Carol, using information from their Dickens' hand out.
In Class: Students were introduced to A Christmas Carol. We discussed our study packets and the required extra projects. We took notes off the overhead about Charles Dickens' life and the A Christmas Carol.
Assignment: The Charles Dickens' information quiz is tomorrow. Students may begin working on their Christmas Carol projects. These are to be done outside of class. Read your AR books for 2nd quarter.

The HISTORY Experience
Experienced at School: Our students completed a 4-3-2-1 sheet regarding part 2 of the Lewis and Clark video.
Experience at Home: We do not have History homework tonight.

SCIENCE
In Class: Periodic table notes were finished and highlighting done on your periodic tables. Pick up the notes from Mrs. Hanson or your partner. Get your table highlighted.

Bell Work: Students wrote a journal about prior knowledge that have about A
Christmas Carol.
In Class: Students were introduced to A Christmas Carol. We played a word find game with novel terms on it. Students then worked on a Charles Dickens' information worksheet.
Assignment: The Charles Dickens' information worksheet is due tomorrow. Read your AR books for 2nd quarter.

The HISTORY Experience
Experienced at School: Our students completed a classification sheet on the Manifest Destiny painting.
Experience at Home: We do not have History homework tonight.

SCIENCE
In Class: We went over the density lab test today. Ask to see yours. We pulled papers and put them into your portfolios. You have papers on the side counter and in your folders. Use the list on the back whiteboard. We finished the Chemistry pretest and started the periodic table notes. Pick up a periodic table from the side counter.

Bell Work: We wrote a journal about sentence structure, prepositional phrases, and
infinitives.
In Class: We handed in yesterday's homework and took a quiz over helping verbs. We discussed compound sentences, added to our green card today, and practiced them on our homework
Assignment: Students have a compound sentence formula worksheet due tomorrow! The spelling quiz is on Friday. Read your AR books for 2nd quarter!

In Class: We handed in yesterday's homework. We practiced locating subjects on sentences on the overhead. We reviewed simple sentence formulas and received a worksheet for homework.

Assignment: AMC test will be given during class tomorrow. If you were absent hand in assignments and make arrangements to make up the chapter 4 quiz.
PRE-ALGEBRA
In Class: Filled out the planner for the week, checked Practice 5-2 rational numbers worksheet, reviewed rational number classification, worked on the review.
Assignment: Complete your review sheet for Tuesday, get your grade sheets signed for Tuesday for 100%, Wednesday for 95%, Thursday for 90% and Friday for 80%. Students whose grade sheets are not returned by Friday receive 0%.

ENGLISH
Bell Work: We wrote down our spelling words for the week. These words deal with our sentence structure unit.
In Class: We handed in our Johnny Tremain books today! If you were absent, please turn this book into Mrs. Micek ASAP!! We watched a Grammar Rocks video and took notes. You MUST watch this video if you were absent.
Assignment: Read your AR books for 2nd quarter!

In Class: Reviewed graphing on a coordinate plane, solving the equation for y, and
labeling the x-intercept and the y-intercept.
Assignment: Complete graphing equations 1-12 on the worksheet. Pick up the
worksheets from Mrs. West if you were absent.

PRE-ALGEBRA
In Class: Reviewed divisibility rules, listing factors of a number, prime factorization, size of fractions, and simplified fractions. Assignments were organized to be handed in Tuesday for students who were absent on Friday.
Assignment: Study for the test using your assignments and the review items listed above.

ENGLISH
Bell Work: Students wrote down assignments for the week in their planners or
journals.
In Class: Students had time in class to read chapter 11 in Johnny Tremain and work on the study guide questions..

In Class: Density of Matter lab was finished today. These things were checked off. 1. All density numbers checked one more time. 2. All graphs finished and printed. 3. All three practice objects measured and densities figured. 4. Conclusion questions picked up and finished for Tuesday. Figure out where you are at and finish up.

Johnny Tremain.
In Class: Students finished answering study guide questions over chapter 9 in Johnny Tremain. Students read chapter 10 and answered study guide questions in class.
Assignment: Make sure all study guide questions are finished through chapter 10 for Johnny Tremain. There will be a chapter 10 quiz on Friday! Read your AR books for 2nd quarter!
