Pre Algebra
In Class: Filled out the planner for the week. Reviewed our notes for surface area of prisms and cylinders and introduced surface area of a square pyramid. Used dry eraser boards to practice calculating surface area.
Assignment: Complete page 455-456 exercises 1-9, 16, be sure to give the formula, substitution, and then give your answer to the nearest hundredth.
ALGEBRA
In class: Practiced factoring the difference of two squares and perfect square trinomials and solving quadratic equations.
Assignment: Page 622-623 exercises 18-62 even, 65, 73-76.
ENGLISH
Bell Work: Students wrote a journal about Gentlehands.
In Class: Students received Gentlehands books and packets. We discussed Nazi war criminals and took introductory notes over our novel. We began reading Chapter 1. Please finish for tomorrow!
Assignment: Gentlehands chapter 1. Keep reading your AR books to acquire fourth quarter points.
The HISTORY Experience
Experienced at School: Students worked on the Learning Opportunity worksheet regarding chapter 28.8 to 28.9.
Experience at Home: We will complete the Chapter 28.8 to 28.9 Learning Opportunity worksheet on Monday.
SCIENCE
In class: Brought in soil samples. Read pp. 190-195 and filled out The Nature of Soil questions and filled out and colored Soil Profile
Assignment: Did in class
Journal: Where did you get your soil from? What do we use soil for? Who uses soil in their work? How do we get soil and why should we take care of it?
