ALGEBRA
In Class: Handed in assignments today and took the chapter 1 Test.
Assignment: Review chapter 2 sections 1-4 for Thursday’s pretest.
PRE-ALGEBRA
In Class: Reviewed integer tiles, integer addition, absolute value and opposites in preparation for tomorrow’s quiz.
Assignment. Finish the integer vocabulary worksheet that was handed out on Friday (the pages before the race track ), make corrections throughout the packet.
ENGLISH
Bell Work: Students received grade sheets and papers. They put these in their English folders.
In Class: Students played a verb game reviewing transitive and intransitive verbs. We discussed linking verbs in class.
Assignment: Students are to do ex. 12, 13, 14 (p. 334) for Thursday. Students should be reading AR books for 1st quarter.
HISTORY
In class: Explained why the population of the colonies was exploding. Discussed the causes and effects of the French Indian War. Analyzed the song “Yankee Doodle Dandy.”
Assignment: *Vocabulary quiz on Friday. Chapter 5 Vocabulary flashcards. Nine words total (7 from ch.5 and 2 words from ch.4).
SCIENCE
In Class: We did the Constellation of the Month today. We logged the moon for Tuesday night. We will finish the “Down on the Moon” activity on Thursday.
Assignment: Moon Watch begins Aug. 31st. New constellation to look at. Get your sky sheet caught up and your logs.
Journal: See attached sheet.
