Parent teacher sign up forms were handed out Monday morning in second period class and should be returned as soon as possible.

Pre Algebra
In Class: Grade sheets were handed out on Tuesday in class, students getting parent signatures and returned on Friday will get a 90%. Reviewed changing between fractions, decimals and percents, organizing fraction, decimals and percents by size and using proportions to solve percent story problems.
Assignment: Complete the worksheet page that was handed out in class today and finish making corrections on this week’s assignment.

ALGEBRA
In class: Grade sheets were handed out on Tuesday in class, students getting parent signatures and returned on Friday will get 90%. Reviewed solving linear systems by graphing, substitution, and linear combinations for the quiz on Friday. We organized assignments to be handed in on Friday.

Pre Algebra
In Class: Be sure your math book is covered by Wednesday. Introduced the
Pythagorean Theorem and began solving for the missing leg or hypotenuse.
Assignment: Complete Practice worksheet 5-10.

ALGEBRA
In class: Be sure your algebra book is covered by class time on Wednesday. Introduced solving absolute value inequalities.
Assignment: Page 356 exercises 19-39.

ENGLISH
Bell Work: Filled out AR Reading Log -- must get this from Mrs. Micek.
In Class: Students received spelling lists and discussed words for Friday's quiz. Students also received writing handouts and filled in green sentence structure cards. Students discussed using details in writing. A descriptive worksheet is due tomorrow.
Assignment: Students should begin reading AR books for 3rd quarter points and categories. Descriptive worksheet is due Wednesday. Spelling quiz on Friday.

The HISTORY Experience
Experienced at School: We completed the Territorial Acquisition Assessment.
Experience at Home: We have no homework tonight.

SCIENCE
In Class: Brochure Tour started for elements families and uses. Pick up a sheet from Mrs. Hanson to get started. Flashcards were checked off. Show Mrs. Hanson your cards.

In Class: Filled out the planner for the week and be sure that your math book is
covered by Wednesday. Reviewed rational and irrational numbers.
Assignment: Complete Practice worksheet 5-9.

ALGEBRA
In class: Filled out the planner for the week and be sure that your algebra book is covered by class time on Wednesday. Reviewed solving inequalities and graphing compound inequalities.
Assignment: Page 349 exercises 12-30 even, 32-35.

ENGLISH
Bell Work: Reviewed grade sheets for 2nd term.
In Class: Students discussed upcoming writing assessment and spelling assessment and viewed ACC projects. Mrs. Mahalek gave a power point presentation over "Must Read" books, and then students checked out books in the Media Center for 3rd quarter Independent Reading points.
Assignment: Students should begin reading AR books for 3rd quarter points and categories.

In Class: Brochures were handed back with rubrics. Yours is on the side counter. We went over the element quiz taken before Christmas. Flash cards were made for the elements and five definitions. At. Number, At. Mass, Protons, Neutrons, Electrons. Ask Mrs. Hanson for cards.
