8-4 Assignments DATE: May 11, 2009
NAME___________________________________

ALGEBRA
In class: Worked on adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing radical expressions.
Goal: Improve your confidence in calculating with radical expressions
Assignment: Page 719 (18 – 50 even)

Pre Algebra
In Class: Practiced finding the volume of prisms, cylinders, pyramids and cones.
Goal: Practice calculating volume.
Assignment: Volume Worksheet I: Give the formula, substitution, and answer labeled in cubic units.
ENGLISH
Bell Work: Students discussed chapters 14-17.
In Class: Students read aloud chapters 18-19 of Gentlehands.
Assignment: Work on packets for Gentlehands. Test on Wednesday. Students should be reading AR books for 4th term points. Final day to earn points is May 18, 2009.

The HISTORY Experience
In Class: Today we finished the Civil War, read p. 318 – 320 in the textbook and completed a notes worksheet.
Assignment: Study for Civil War Test on Wed. (Students have materials needed to study).



SCIENCE
In Class: Notes were taken on sediment types and the definition of soil. We also finished the soil profile and its’ characteristics. Reading was done out of the book on pages 192-193. Review sheets were handed out for the next assessment.
Assignment: Get out and look at the new constellation. Finish the notes and profile characteristics.
Journal: Fill out your planner for the week. Pick up sheets from the side counter.
