ALGEBRA
In class: Worked on graphing a function of square roots, and found the domain and range.
Goal: Find the domain and range of a function then graph.
Assignment: Page 713 (45-55 odd, 57, 60, 63).
Pre Algebra
In Class: Practiced finding the volume of triangular prisms.
Goal: Practice calculating the volume of prisms and cylinders.
Assignment: Page 461 1-6, 9-15. Give the formula, substitution, and answer labeled in cubic units.
ENGLISH
Bell Work: Students looked at local writing assessments.
In Class: Students wrote summaries and thought-provoking questions for chapters 14-15. Read chapter 16-17 for tomorrow.
Assignment: Gentlehands chap 14-17 quiz on Thursday. Students should be reading AR books for 4th term points. Final day to earn points is May 18, 2009.
The HISTORY Experience
In Class: Students listened and analyzed “Fortunate Son” by relating it to the Civil War draft riots. Students also read p. 315 – 317 in the textbook. Before reading, students wrote 6 questions from the headings and answered them while reading. Questions were handed in at the end of class.
Assignment: Finish Questions
SCIENCE
In Class: Soil testing was finished. Finish the questions on the back. We started working with the soil profile picture.
Assignment: Get out and look at the constellation. Get an appointment set to retake the last assessment if you need to.
