ALGEBRA
In class: Introduced graphing a function of square roots, and found the domain and range.
Goal: Evaluate and graph a function involving square roots.
Assignment: Page 712 (20-44 even). Students who will be gone on Thursday will continue on and do exercises 45-55 odd, 57, 60, 63.
Pre Algebra
In Class: Practiced finding the volume of cubes, rectangular prisms, and cylinders.
Goal: Learn to calculate the volume of prisms and cylinders.
Assignment: No additional assignment.
ENGLISH
Bell Work: Students looked at local writing assessments.
In Class: Students wrote summaries and thought-provoking questions for chapters 12-13. Read chapter 14-15 for tomorrow.
Assignment: Gentlehands chap 14-15 quiz on Thursday. Students should be reading AR books for 4th term points. Final day to earn points is May 18, 2009.
The HISTORY Experience
In Class: Students completed worksheet and discussion of Civil War Technology. We listened to the Gettysburg Address and simulated the benefits of the mini-ball and rifling.
SCIENCE
In Class: We finished talking about the Nebraska map and the Ogallala Aquifer. The map was handed in to be graded. We went to the lab to start our soil testing.
Assignment: Hand in your Nebraska map. Read the information attached about the aquifer. Get out and look at the constellation. Get an appointment set to retake the last assessment if you need to.
