In class: Returned and recorded quiz and assignment grades. Introduced solving special cases of linear systems of equations.
Assignment: Page 429-430, (12-17, 19-27 odd, 31-33)
Pre Algebra
In Class: Students participated in a review activity during class. They were trying to find the missing piece of information: 10% of 120 = X. This was a review of assignment from yesterday.
Assignment: Page 340, # 10-24, and 28-32 even. Also, make sure worksheet from yesterday is complete. Will check tomorrow.
English
Bell Work: Students handed in word choice packets.
In Class: We played a review game to prepare for writing quiz on Tuesday. Students peer-evaluated restaurant essays in groups.
Assignment: Creative Writing packets due on Feb. 1. Read AR books for 3rd term points. State writing assessment will be February 4th and 5th.
The HISTORY Experience
In Class: Students should be able to explain how we got our national anthem and describe the events surrounding the burning of Washington D.C. We started watching a video on the War of 1812. Students took notes as they watched the video.
Assignment: N/A
Science:
In class: Reading finished on compounds. We will continue the reading on bonding after the lab tomorrow. We reviewed physical and chemical properties and changes. New lab partners were assigned. We did a readiness survey for KHS placements for math and science.
Assignment: Get caught up on the reading and notes on compounds. Do your journal entry.
Journal: See attached sheet.
