8-4 Assignments DATE: February 16, 2010

ALGEBRA
In class: Practiced the rules for working with powers.
Assignment: Complete the Practice WS 8-1/8.2 Review
Pre-Algebra
In Class: Started notes on dimensional analysis. Students learned how to convert between inches and yards, gallons and cups, and pounds and tons.
Assignment: Worksheet front and back. They need to remember to set up their conversion table for each problem.

English
Bell Work: None.
In Class: Students took a review quiz over pronouns with the clickers. We handed in pronouns and finished newspaper poems. Students read p. 586-589 in literature book.
Assignment: Read pp. 586-589 in literature book. Read AR books for 3rd term points.

The HISTORY Experience
In Class: Students should be able to list why Andrew Jackson disliked the Bank of the United States. Students read p. 191 in the textbook and worked on notes packets.
Assignment: Complete notes packets through 14.6

Science:
In class: We reviewed the steps of the scientific method. There is a handout for you to highlight. There is a “Science World” article to read and pick out the steps of the method. There is a worksheet for that also.
Assignment: Go out and look at our new constellation. Read the article and answer the questions.
Journal: Entry #33. See attached sheet.
