8-4 Assignments DATE: February 17, 2010

NAME___________________________________

ALGEBRA
In class: Reviewed the rules for working with powers in preparation of tomorrow’s quiz. Organized assignments to be handed in on Thursday.
Assignment: Make corrections on the assignments and study for the chapter 8 quiz.

Pre-Algebra
In Class: Introduced the metric system and understanding the order:
k, h, da, m-l-g, d, c, m. This is remembered by the saying kids have dropped over dead converting metrics. They need to know that we move the decimal the direction they go on the stairs (on notes) and the same number of places.
Assignment: Complete the worksheet, front and back. The back is a practice for the quiz that is coming up.

English
Bell Work: Students received poetry packets.
In Class: Students took notes over poetry terms using a powerpoint presentation. We discussed our poetry booklets.
Assignment: Work on poetry booklet. Read AR books for 3rd term points.

The HISTORY Experience
In Class: Students should be able to explain Jackson’s Indian Removal Policy. Students were given a study guide for the test (chapter 14) on Friday.
Assignment: TEST on FRIDAY!!!

Science:
In class: We went over the homework assignment for today. The “Science World” article was used and we answered the questions. Those sheets were handed in for a grade. We set up the experiment for tomorrow using antacids. You will need to fill out your purple lab sheet.
Assignment: Go out and look at our new constellation. Hand in your homework and get caught up on the lab sheet.
Journal: See attached sheet.
