MAPS testing is next week April 27-29 during 2nd and 3rd periods. Get a good nights rest and remember to eat breakfast.
ALGEBRA
In class: Organized assignments to be handed in on Thursday before the quiz.
Assignment: Study for the quiz, make corrections on the assignments. Be able to classify polynomials by the number of terms and the degree, be able to add, subtract and multiply polynomials and be able to find the perimeter and area of basic polygons using polynomials.
Pre-Algebra
In Class: Reviewed surface area formulas and answered questions from worksheet 9-5. Students copied the answers to the Review worksheet onto their assignment to check their work.
Assignment: Complete one of each of the following: rectangular prism, cube, cylinder, square pyramid, and cone on the first page of the review worksheet. Everyone needs to complete the story problems on the back. Have the Surface Area Review worksheet completed for Thursday.
English
Bell Work: Students checked body paragraphs
In Class: Students worked on writing conclusion paragraphs for their five-paragraph essays. We discussed structure and wrote in class. We continued watching the Anne Frank DVD.
Assignment: Rough drafts (all five paragraphs) will be checked for a graded Thursday. 5-paragraph essays due April 26. Read AR books for 4th term points; book points are due in May.
The HISTORY Experience
In Class: Students should be able to: Describe the importance of family for slaves. List leisure activities that slaves were allowed to participate. Explain the importance of religion and church for slaves.
Assignment: Students continued working on their quilt projects.
Science:
In class: New lab partners were chosen. We recorded grades and updated grade sheets. We did a graffiti activity on the dynamic earth and its actions. 3 videos were watched on earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunamis.
Assignment: Come in and watch the videos. It will take 12 minutes.
Journal: No entry
