In class: Answered questions for Page 646, exercises 17-39 odd and 41-45
Assignment: Handed in this assignment. Students had a chance to keep their math books and use them as a reference or hand them in today.

Pre-Algebra
In Class: Returned the math packet on integers and the assessment.
Assignment: Students had a chance to keep their math books and use them as a reference or hand them in today.
English
Bell Work: None.
In Class: Students listened to book talks on recommended freshmen readings for the summer in the media center.
Assignment: Read AR books for 4th term points; book points are due May 17.

The HISTORY Experience
In Class: Students categorized significant people in US history into groups. The class reflected on what we have learned and accomplished this year.

Science:
In class: Plate Tectonics wks and Plate boundary simulation Lab were handed back and recorded. We continued watching a movie that focuses on the parts of the earth.
Assignment: Retakes on assessments.

ALGEBRA
In class: Returned the Chapter 10 Test, answered questions on solving proportions using cross-products.
Assignment: page 646 Exercises 17-39 odd, 41-45.

Pre-Algebra
In Class: Reviewed addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of integers. Assignments were handed in before the quiz.
Assignment: Be sure to make up assignments and take the quiz if you were absents.

English
Bell Work: None.
In Class: Students wrote a letter to Grandpa Trenker.
Assignment: Read AR books for 4th term points; book points are due May 17.

The HISTORY Experience
In Class: Students should be able to: Explain why Grant was an effective General for the North. Explain how the South was treated at the conclusion of the war.
Assignment: Students read p. 318 – 320, completed a guided reading activity and took a quiz.

Science:
In class: Assessments were handed back. We recorded grades and cleaned out our folders. Take your journals home. We did a review on the electromagnetic spectrum and started watching a movie that focuses on the parts of the earth.

Assignment: Organized assignments, make corrections on assignments and be sure to make study and review for the test.

Pre-Algebra
In Class: Reviewed subtracting and multiplying integers.
Assignment: Worksheet 9-5 and 9-6.

English
Bell Work: Students reviewed packets.
In Class: We discussed chapter 18 and worked on packets. We read chapter 19 aloud and finished packets.
Assignment: Read chapter 19. Hand in Packets! Gentlehands test on Thursday! Read AR books for 4th term points; book points are due May 17.

The HISTORY Experience
In Class: Students should be able to: Explain how the battle of Antietam was a failure for both the North & South. Define the Emancipation Proclamation.
Assignment: Students watched a video clip, and received a handout about Antietam. Students took a quiz. *There will be a quiz each day this week over the learning objectives.

Science:
In class: We finished the Plate Tectonics worksheet today. Be sure 10-17 are done and the worksheet is ready to hand in on Wed. We did a journal on earthquake safety. The journals were handed in to be graded. Some classes got to the volcano pictures.
Assignment: Keep working on your review sheets. Assessment on Thursday. Hand in your journal.

In Class: Reviewed graphing on a coordinate axis, and adding integers.
Assignment: Worksheet 9-3 and 9-4.

Bell Work: Students filled out planners today.
In Class: We read chapter 18 aloud. We discussed chapter 16-18 and worked on packets.
Assignment: Read chapter 18. Packets should be finished through chapter 18. Packets due Tuesday! Read AR books for 4th term points; book points are due May 17.

The HISTORY Experience
In Class: Students should be able to: List contributions of women during the Civil War. Explain the “blockade” portion of the Anaconda Plan.
Assignment: Students read p. 310 – 311 (worksheet & notes- in class)

Science:
In class: Plate Boundary Simulation lab sheets were finished and handed in. Get your conclusion written. We did a reading on natural disasters, their positives and negatives. We started working on the Plate Tectonics worksheet. Do through #9.
Assignment: Keep working on your review sheets. Assessment on Thursday.

Pre-Algebra
In Class: Introduced the volume formula for sphere, handed in assignments and took the volume assessment.
Assignment: Complete the worksheet on Volume of a sphere.

English
Bell Work: Students reviewed packets and handed in grade sheets.
In Class: We discussed chapter 14-15. We read chapter 16 aloud. Students took a quiz over 14-16 and worked on our packets in small groups.
Assignment: Packets should be finished through chapter 16. Read AR books for 4th term points; book points are due May 17.

The HISTORY Experience
In Class: Students took a pop quiz over the strengths and weaknesses of the North and South. Students should be able to list the 3 part of the Anaconda Plan and explain how the battle of Bull Run changed the North and South’s thoughts on the war.
Assignment: Students read p. 308 – 309.

Science:
In class: Plate boundary simulation lab done today. Review sheets were handed out for next week’s assessment on fhe parts of the earth.
Assignment: Come in and do the lab. Lab sheets are on the side counter.

Assignment: Read pages 619-621,and complete page 622 exercises 1-6.

Pre-Algebra
In Class: Reviewed the volume formulas for prisms, cylinders, pyramids, and cones.
Assignment: Complete Volume Worksheet II. Students copied the answers so they could check for correct work as they completed each exercise. Identify the 3-D shape, write a formula for volume, show the substitution, and give the answer rounded to the nearest hundredth.
English
Bell Work: Students reviewed packets.
In Class: We discussed chapter 9 and read chapter 11 aloud. Students took a quiz over chapters 10-11. They began reading chapters 12-13.
Assignment: Read chapter 12-13 and do packet. Read AR books for 4th term points; book points are due May 17.

The HISTORY Experience
In Class: Students took a test and should be able to list the strengths and weaknesses of the North and the South.
Assignment: Students read p. 304-305, created a t-chart for the strengths and weaknesses of the North and South.

Science:
In class: We checked the “Find It” maps. Turn yours in to be graded. We started working with the plate boundary pictures and labeling them.
Assignment: Hand in your map. Highlight your boundary information.

In class: Used the zero-product factor property in the solution of quadratic equations, and practiced factoring quadratic equations.
Assignment: Study the review worksheet in preparation for the quiz on Wednesday, and make corrections on assignments to be handed in on Wednesday before the quiz.

Pre-Algebra
In Class: Introduced the volume formula for triangular pyramids, and reviewed the volume formulas of pyramids and cones.
Assignment: Complete Volume Worksheet I. Students copied the answers so they could check for correct work as they completed each exercise. Identify the 3-D shape, write a formula for volume, show the substitution, and give the answer rounded to the nearest hundredth.
English
Bell Work: Students reviewed packets.
In Class: Students worked in partner groups to answer packet questions. We discussed chapters 5-8. We began reading chapter 9-10.
Assignment: Read chapter 9-10 and do packet. Quiz over 9-10 tomorrow. Read AR books for 4th term points; book points are due in May.

In Class: Students should be able to: Describe the impact of Uncle Tom’s Cabin on slavery. Explain the Dred Scott Case- facts, decision.
Assignment: Students completed History Frame of the Dred Scott Case. TEST on Wednesday (Chapter 21)

In class: Quiz on structure of the earth (mantel, core), discussed plate boundaries and tectonics.
Assignment: Constellation of the month extra credit. Prepare for quiz over earth’s structure.

In class: Filled out the planner for the week and reviewed the zero-product factor property in the solution of quadratic equations.
Assignment: Complete the review worksheet in preparation for the quiz on Wednesday.

In Class: Filled out the planner for the week, and introduced the volume formulas of pyramids and cones.
Assignment: Students copied the answers so they could check for correct work as they completed each exercise. Complete worksheet 9-10.
